Mission Impossible 3

Mission Impossible 3I went to see Mission Impossible 3 with Junior MC recently. Ok, admittedly I dragged him there against his will. Why the hell I wanted to go see it in the first place is a bit of a mystery to me as I thought the first Mission Impossible film was only ok and I actually found the second one quite boring. I think it has something to do with the brilliant theme tune, I’m a complete sucker for a good choon and I’ve even heard an amazing drum and bass version of the Mission Impossible theme, which I think is part of the reason that I keep giving this stupid series another go.

Anyway, pretty much standard fare in this third outing. Tom runs, Tom jumps, Tom dodges bullets, Tom dispenses justice to his enemies, Tom looks clean shaven at all times and Tom continues to look like he hasn’t aged a day since the first Mission Impossible film. Hmmm, maybe there’s something to this Scientology lark after all.

Mission Impossible 3Look, don’t get me wrong, I’m not belittling Tom Cruise (geddit :-), in fairness he has all the dosh he could ever want and Katie Holmes to boot. And on that note, for the love of God, would someone just slap that girl and tell her to cop herself on. I don’t have a problem with the age gap, feck that, but this whole Scientology bullshit that she’s appears to have bought into like some simple brainwashed follower... please!

Oh yeah, back to the film. I dunno, lots of glamorous locations and exciting stunts but mind-numbingly boring overall apart from the few scenes with that scintillatingly seductive dress. Watch it on DVD if you really have to. Oddly enough, Junior actually enjoyed it and considering that he hates going to the cinema, the only conclusion I can come to is that he’s obviously closer to the mental age of the twelve year old target audience of this film! Still, as we were let in for free, I suppose I can't really complain too much.

I haven't seen MI3 and probably won't because I don't like The Cruise, but if you want violence and a decent d&b soundtrack (and who doesn't?) Rollin' with the Nines is quite good...

I'm with china blue, I won't go to see this mainly because I think yer man is a religious fruit-case, kinda like Sinead O'Connor when she became a priest for a while. And I'd rather go see The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift if I'm going to go see any dodgy serial movie living off "past glories".

Yeah, I saw The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift reviewed on popcorn last night and for some strange reason I really want to see it. Maybe it has something to do with the really fast colourful cars.

Vroom! Vroom!

Tom was great in Willow and as the oompa loompa in Charly and the chocolate factory, but he went down after dat. Seemed to lose confidence and shrink in front of the camera. Shame.

hey! im filming a cork version of the fast and the furious called the fast and the furious: blackrock burn. so if any of you guys/gals have any noisy black oil smokin 1980s toyota starlets or 1.0 litre opel corsas with fat wings on the back and hole drilled exhausts, we need you!! Im hoping to capture the thrill on film of 0-100 kmh in 30 seconds, with close-ups of the g-force effect on their faces....yeehah! these guys rock on! They'll go against Bruce Willis in his Smart car for slips. Of course, you know me there has to be a twist! I won't spoil the plot but in the end Bruce Willis wins.
